Resort Renovation Update
As a pioneer among world-class
resorts, Hilton Waikoloa Village continues to improve the 62-acre resort,
meeting the needs of future guests and distinguishing itself as the leading
resort in hospitality and excellence.
Since 2005, Hilton Waikoloa Village
has invested over $100 million in capital improvements. Here are a few
of the highlights.
- The Orchid Marketplace, formerly the Orchid Cafe, now offers convenient and family-friendly dining choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner alongside the Kona Pool.
- A new Dolphin Quest Village features three structures with an education portal, a retail boutique, guest changing rooms, a photo/video production center, and more.
- Guest rooms alone were a $21 million renovation project. New carpeting,
bathroom fixtures, richly appointed furniture, and 27-inch flat
screen televisions; fresh paint; custom refreshment centers; Serta Perfect
Sleeper "The Hilton Serenity Bed" bed and bedding; and wood
valences create an innovative, luxurious yet comfortable room with Hawaiian
decor and warmth.
- The fitness and free weight room equipment at Kohala Spa is upgraded
including personal flat panel televisions. The locker rooms are also
improved, along with the restrooms.
- The Palace Tower sculpture fountain is restored.
- Public area furniture is replaced.
- The Lower Lobby is expanded 3,000 square-feet.
- Restaurants received special attention. Palm Terrace has a brand-new
buffet, service stations and equipment; Donatoni's installed hardwood
floors, new carpeting and wallpaper; Lagoon Grill's deck is extended,
the furniture is replaced and the bar is brand new; and flat panel televisions
are added to Boat Landing Pavilion and Malolo Lounge.
- Public area restrooms are renovated.
- All indoor meeting facilities are renovated from the floor to the
ceiling and now feature new T3 capable circuit and network infrastructure
upgrades.
- The 12 mahogany canal boats are reupholstered and feature new engines.
- The tramway rail and electrical system is upgraded.
- The installation of a webcam at the Hale Aloha wedding chapel creates
the opportunity for videocasting.
- The addition of a convenient, self-service kiosk in the Main Lobby
expedites check-in/check-out and preprints airline boarding passes.
